Chace Building Supply donates equipment and labor in an effort to foster the building trades among youth in Northeastern CT.

April 14, 2005 – Chace Building Supply has been working closely with the Builders Association of Eastern Connecticut (BAEC) to foster young people's interest in the building industry. Several of Chace’s customers, who include area building industry professionals, have expressed concern over the severe shortage of labor interested in the building trades. Chace’s plan is to assist in providing qualified members of the work force for the future. Vice President, Ron Tetrault, has met with a local technical school to define a plan for partnering in the future. In addition Chace employees participated in career fairs and paired builders with tech school students for projects. Recently Chace was asked to donate labor and use of their equipment to move a shed constructed by the Challenge School in Brooklyn to it’s new home at Camp Horizons in South Windham.

Members of the Chace Building Supply staff coordinated the effort. Jared Buell and Sean Mayer did a wonderful job of negotiating the shed onto the Chace boom truck. They then transported and placed the shed in it's new home.

For over a century, the Chace family has been offering Southern New England quality building products and excellent customer service. Chace is the local, full service lumber and hardware store, and is proud to offer all of the materials needed to complete almost any building project. Every effort is made to communicate a professional and knowledgeable image, while embracing honesty and concern for the customer’s needs.
