Chace Building Supply Sponsors Local Family

May 9, 2005 – Chace Building Supply was recognized by the Putnam Little League for their generosity with the League, as well as raising more than $1000 for a Putnam family. The family lost their home to fire after the natural gas explosion on Fremont Street on March 11, 2005.

With children who are players, and parents who coach, the family is actively involved in the Putnam Little League. The League contacted local businesses for donations on behalf of the family shortly after their home was nearly lost. Chace Building Supply has made a strong commitment to the community of Northeastern Connecticut, and decided to adopt this family. The “adoption” included a corporate donation, and raising funds from those in the area to assist in the daily needs that would arise after almost all of their possessions were lost the fire. In addition, Chace employees donated clothes and household linens.

Chace Building Supply was also able to rally assistance from other area business partners. Custom Casuals on Woodstock Avenue in Putnam generously donated several boxes of clothes immediately after fire. 1350AM WINY provided free Public Service Announcements about the fund raising at the Chace store in Woodstock. The Woodstock store also served as a venue for the Putnam Little League to hold an indoor yard sale and bake sale. Even with poor weather, the League’s sales during the Grand Re-Opening of the Paint Store and Sign Designs at Chace raised more than one hundred dollars.

For over a century, the Chace family has been offering Southern New England quality building products and excellent customer service. Chace is the local, full service lumber and hardware store, and is proud to offer all of the materials needed to complete almost any building project. In addition, they are extremely generous to the charitable organizations of the community. Over the last year, Chace donated monetary gifts, products and gift certificates to more than 50 local organizations. Chace Building Supply is committed to developing a partnership within the community and treating each individual as a lifetime customer.
