VERY IMPORTANT NEWS FROM CHACE BUILDING SUPPLY!
1 May 2008
Dear Valued Chace Building Supply Customer:
As fuel prices climb, fuel costs threaten to become an increasing part of product costs. In addition to working to manage costs, effective 5/12/08 Chace will be charging a minimum $14.00 fuel charge on all deliveries that do not already have a delivery fee assessed. This charge is a response not only to the cost of fuel for our vehicles, but also the dramatically increased cost that we incur from all of our suppliers for delivery. The decision has been made to line item these costs, as opposed to raising prices to absorb them. A detailed listing of charges can be found in the table below.

Although we may not be able to control the price of fuel, we have plenty of control of how we use that fuel. Items that will limit/reduce you incurring the fuel charge include:
1. Sensible batching of deliveries with other orders going to your job.
2. Pre-planning deliveries with your Chace salesperson to make sensible sized loads and reduce after-thoughts.
3. Asking your staff to think and plan ahead to reduce last minute small rush deliveries. Let's eliminate the ones that aren't necessary.
We're all creatures of habit, but $4.25 per gallon diesel fuel is something that should make us question our habits. Our best weapon in fighting high fuel costs is how we manage our consumption. We need your help to contain those costs and minimize their impact on the price of materials. Together, we can make a difference.
As always, Chace thanks you for your continued support and patronage. Please contact a Chace representative for the more details or if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Scott Chace Ron Tetrault
